My entry for the Yuumei-contest! c: This was very fun to do. I'm surprised that it came out so serious and 'deep' though x3. I usually choose a humorous approach to things, but in this case, where most of the other entries were humorous, I chose to do something serious for once c:

I wanted to do something different too. And since there were so many comics about the quirks of an artist, I wanted to do one that described the 'evolution of an artist'. I find it interesting how some people have always known that they wanted to be an artist (me for example x3) I wonder why this is. Why do some children become interested in art, while others don't?
I also find it intersting how you keep maturing as an artist as you get older. I don't know if you ever truly 'bloom' though, like in the comic. You keep evolving as long as you live. But i do believe there's a point in every artists life, where you figure out what you want to do, or get another kind of artistic revelation.

I hope you like this! Since it was so long, I had to spend less time on the art, and more time on actually getting it finished. I tried to let the style change bit as the main characters gets older though. It's more sketchy when she's young, and gets more mature as she gets older.

Even though the main characters is named Ida, it's not really me this comic is about. I'm still struggling with finding out were I want to go with my art. I hope that one day I will find out though c:

I'm sorry if there are any spelling mistakes in here. If you find any, please tell me! c: I'm also a bit unsure about the the word 'bloom', at the end of the comic. In norwegian, there's this word, 'blomstre', which means when a flower is fully matured, but can also be used to describe sometging else, like a person, who's finally... matured in something. In appearance for example. or art, music etc. I used google translate to find a similar word in english, but all it gave me was the word 'flourish', which I don't think is right. I searched for a better word, and found 'bloom'. what do yout think about this? Does it seem like the right word?

What a lovely display of what you can do with the computer medium. This is a great example of a type of storytelling that would simply not work as effectively outside the computer and the "scrolling down gradually" effect you get on a monitor. I guess the analogue would be a papyrus roll or similar.

As you might have guessed, I enjoyed reading this. Art-wise the style is simple yet effective. It fits the theme, conveys the story. It was an good touch to keep the art colourful while the characters grey and dull by contrast. I was a bit skeptical of the "antropomorphic personification of your artistic soul" at first (it sounded a bit cheesy), but the kid's immediate acceptance and interaction with the creature worked to endear me to it throughout - had it just been a sidekick it would have been silly, but as the main driver of the story it works surprisingly well. The subtle (and not-so-subtle) current of personal growth and maturity makes this most appealing.

For a critique, I find myself pretty uncritical at this point. Possibly I would have liked to see the use of stronger colours towards the end - the end after all signifies a new insight. In the middle of the story, such an insight was represented by very stark colours; the long stretch of brown towards the end tends to be somewhat visually similar and maybe reducing the visual impact of the last revelation. That said, that is only nitpicking and not diminishing the fact that we are looking at a very powerful representation.

Great job.

This is quite possibly the most greatest, most awesome, best non-animated Daily Deviation I have ever witnessed on deviantART. Ever. It speaks to me on so many levels. By losing your life to art at a very early age, you can change your world. For the better. Because you are right. There are no limits.

You are the spark. Light the fire. Blossom.

This is what art is all about. Art is inside you. Let it out. You let it out. We should all let it out. You are a great motivator. I would like to thank you so much for motivating me.

Congratulations. You have made the awesome list.

I've read this five times now and I keep getting that choked, half-nervous chuckle of an emotive burst every time I get to the end of it. There are a lot of beautiful, inspirational, and moving works on this site; but not many ellicit that sort of reaction from me.

And that make me frustrating till now. I trying to make her stop against my dreaming by uploading my art in social media. But it didn't change her mind. To be honest I wanna give up on my dreaming. But after look at this inspirational comic give me strength to keep going.

Emlindes , my first lesson is how you handle a pistol and rifle.

Every pistols need ammunition.
Before you use a pistols you should look if you have enough
ammunition.
A emtpy gun is useless if you can't shot.
If you have a loaded gun then you must hold your weapon with two hands and fix your goal.
before you pull the trigger you should breath in and with your
exhale pull the trigger.
perfect, you can use a pistols.

Now the rifle,
how you use it right.
It is the same like the pistols - you should look if you have enough
ammunition.
Then set the rifle on your shoulder, right or left.
If you are
left-handed then set the rifle on your left shoulder
or if you are
right-handed then set the rifle on your right shoulder.
The hand touch the trigger and pull the trigger
where you have the rilfe on your shoulder.
With the other hand hold you the rifle and reloaded it after a shot.

If you turn around yourself
then is really important that you hold down the
gun barrel and first if you or anywho friends isn't in danger.
The same for the pistols or other guns.

congratulations, you have learned to handle a pistol and a rifle.

I would have done if I'd bothered to actually read that.
I don't really want to learn to shoot a gun ta, because unlike in the USA, my country has some common sense about gun laws.
