This was a picture I made for an exhibition. The idea was to make a series, telling the story about a girl who as a child, meets a faerie in the woods. The faerie gives her a stone shaped as a heart, and the girl keeps it in a necklace which she always carries around her neck. Later, when the woman is grown up, she meets a deer in the forest. She marries the deer, and they get a child, Filippa (shown here) In the beginning they are happy, but after a while, it's appearant that the girl (now a woman) did a bad choice marrying the deer. He steals all her energy, and her strenght. However, in the end the deer is killed, shot by the heart-shaped stone, which was actually the head of an arrow.
Filippa becomes a ballet-dancer, and the story ends with Filippa and the woman, sitting in front of the sea, Filippa dancing and her mother finally happy and at peace.
Yeeah. That was the story. It is strange, isn't it? x3 I would've loved to draw the ending-scene, with filippa dancing in front of the sea. But I don't think I will. I'm too lazy to do a series like this, I think.
Aaand the name is a kind of random. I just wanted to name her something, and seeing as Filippas eyes and skin colour are inspired by my nephew, Filip's, I just named her after him c:
This was made with acylic paint c:
The colors are just lovely.
Mmmm, and the story behind this is just awesomely awesome. I think it'd be a good children's folktale.
Also; traditional! Whoa!
